Tarleton State Men’s Golf finishes play at Oregon State Invitational

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Tarleton State Men's Golf completed its third tournament of the fall season on Tuesday at the Oregon State Invitational at the Trysting Tree Golf Club.

The Texans finished 11th as a team with a 54-hole score of 877. UC Irvine won the team title with a 4-under-par finish and an 848 54-hole team score. Utah Valley (5th, 860) and Seattle U (8th, 869) also represented the WAC with Tarleton State in Corvallis Monday and Tuesday.

Junior Cristobal Sepulveda led the Texans individually, compiling a 54-hole score of 217 to finish 27th. After shooting an even par in Monday's first round, Sepulveda collected two birdies in the third round and eagled on a Par 5 on hole 16 in Tuesday's third round. The Chilean also eagled in his last appearance at the Oregon State Invitational in 2022, doing so on a Par 4 on hole 3 in the second round. Sepulveda is the first Tarleton State player in the Division I Era to collect at least one eagle in two different years of the same fall event.

Senior Alvaro Huidobro finished tied for 36th after compiling a 54-hole score of 219. Huidobro tallied three birdies for a 1-over-par 72 in Tuesday's third round.

Senior Carson Gallaher completed his third tournament of the season with a 225 54-hole score and finished in 60th. Freshman Kellen Young finished tied for 62nd in his third collegiate tournament with a 54-hole score of 226. Sophomore Juan Ballester compiled a 227 54-hole score that put him in a tie for 64th.

Tarleton State completes the fall portion of its schedule Oct. 25-26 with the Monterrey Collegiate Classic in Mexico.
