WEEK AT A GLANCE: Texan Volleyball back in Wisdom Gym, Football travels to resume conference play

Texan Volleyball has yet to fall in their new playing surface within Wisdom Gym and hopes to keep the streak alive against a conference foe.
 
TARLETON STATE VOLLEYBALL hosts their first WAC game of the season in Wisdom Gym this Thursday at 6 p.m. against Seattle U. In volleyball terms, this is the beginning of Bloktober, with free foam hands given out to early arriving fans to help celebrate blocks by the Texans. They will then go on a short road trip to UT Arlington on Saturday for a game against the Lady Mavericks at 12 p.m. The next home Texan Volleyball game will be Oct. 10 against Abilene Christian.
 
TEXAN FOOTBALL gave the fans within Memorial Stadium an unforgettable Family Weekend matchup, holding off Southeastern Louisiana 36-33. Victor Gabalis got back into his groove, throwing for 203 yard and three touchdowns, while Kayvon Britten dominated the run game yet again, rushing for 173 yards and a touchdown of his own. It was far from quiet in Memorial Stadium, as Texan Nation set a new Family Weekend attendance record of 22,312 fans. The Texans are back on the road, traveling to Southern Utah to resume United Athletic Conference play at 7 p.m. on Saturday. Memorial Stadium will be busy again the week after, as the Texans host Utah Tech for Homecoming Oct. 12.
 
TARLETON STATE SOCCER faces their first conference road games of the 2024 season this week, beginning at California Baptist at 9 p.m. on Thursday. They will then travel to Arizona to face Grand Canyon at 3 p.m. on Sunday. The Texans will return to Stephenville on Oct. 17 to host Utah Tech for Military Appreciation Night. There will be free Corps Cadets soccer scarves given away to early arriving fans that evening.
 
TEXAN MEN'S GOLF remains in Colorado this week after wrapping up the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational the week prior. They are now competing in Erie, Colorado, in the Mark Simpson Invitational. This invitational begins Monday and will conclude on Tuesday. The Texans have another lengthy road trip next week, traveling to Corvallis, Oregon, for the Oregon State Invitational Oct. 7-8.
 
TARLETON SPORTS RADIO SHOW features Texan Football head coach, Todd Whitten, and Texan Volleyball head coach, Mary Schindler, weekly through November. The Todd Whitten Show, presented by Triple Crown Ford, will be hosted every Thursday in the lobby of Triple Crown Ford, located at 2975 W. Washington St. in Stephenville from 12-12:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided to those in attendance to all Todd Whitten Shows. The Mary Schindler Show, presented by Peacock's Restaurant and Santo Propane, will be hosted every Monday at the Tarleton Student Center from 12-12:30 p.m. The shows will air on the flagship of Tarleton State Athletics, KTRL 90.5 FM in Stephenville, Texas, and worldwide at TarletonSports.com/Watch.

TICKETS are available for all of the upcoming home events online at TarletonSports.com/tickets. The ticket office is open from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Memorial Stadium. Admission to all Tarleton State Women's Soccer games are free to all fans. Student tickets are available for free to Tarleton students from any campus with a valid university ID number but must be ordered in advance at TarletonSports.com/tickets.
