Tarleton State’s Louise Depadt named WAC Golfer of the Week

Depadt set Texan all-time 18-hole and 54-hole program record, took individual crown at Texas State Invitational

STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Tarleton State's Louise Depadt earned the first WAC Women's Golfer of the Week of the spring season, the league office announced on Thursday afternoon.

Depadt made her return to the course for the Texans after missing the final four events of the fall due to injury. She played in just one of the five fall tournaments for the Purple and White. Depadt came back with a purpose, winning her first event in her return and the first WAC Weekly Award of the Spring. Last spring, she took home the final two weekly awards, making this week's honor her third in her Texan career.

The junior had a record-breaking spring debut, breaking her own Tarleton State all-time 18-hole and 54-hole record. She posted an eight-under par, 64 on her second round of the first day to head into the third and final round 10-under and in first place. She carded a one-under par in the final round to shoot 205, the lowest round in program history. She held both program records from last season shooting a 66 round and a 206 54-hole at the WAC Championships.

Not only did Depadt break record, but she also returned home from San Marcos with some hardware. The junior won the individual title by four strokes, cruising to her third individual title as a Texan. She played her second 54-holes of her Texan career shooting under par in each of the three rounds. She also led the field with 15 birdies. In addition, she recorded the first eagle of the Texan spring, coming on the fourth hole during her second round.

She will look to defend her WAC Individual title crown and help lead the Texans to their quest of repeating as WAC Champions at the end of the spring season. The 2026 WAC Women's Golf Championship will be held at The Clubs of Stonebridge Ranch on April 20-22.

Tarleton State will be back in action next Monday at the Texas Golf Throwdown hosted by Sam Houston. The two-day, 54-hole event will be held at The Woodlands Country Club Tournament Course.
