STEPHENVILLE – Tori Skarke went 5-of-8 from beyond the three-point line and Shelby Adamson had nine assists as Tarleton rolled to its 10th victory of the season with a 92-63 win over Cameron at Wisdom Gym on Monday.

Tarleton improved to 10-1 overall and the 10 wins are the most victories before Jan. 1 in school history. Cameron fell to 3-8 following the loss.

Skarke finished the contest with a team-high 17 points while four other TexAnn players finished with double digit efforts. Adamson was one of those players, collecting 10 points on the night and coming within an assist shy of a double-double.

Skarke opened the scoring with her first three-pointer of the evening giving the TexAnns an early 3-0 lead, but Cameorn's Josie Stewart countered with a three-pointer of her own and tied the game 3-3. The Aggies then took their only lead of the second-half on Sarna Hoosier's lay-up to make it a 5-3 game until JoAnne Jones tied the game back up 5-5 on her lay-up with 17:09 left to play.

Tarleton took their first 10-point lead of the first period with 5:10 remaining when Skarke connected on another one of her three-pointers to make it a 34-24 game. The TexAnns increased their lead to 14 points making it a 43-29 game on a pair of free throws from Adamson, but with :30 seconds left to play, Cameron's Luv Rattler hit a three-pointer and Tarleton headed into the locker room with a 43-32 lead at the break.

Tarleton put the game to rest in the second-half, outscoring the Aggies 10-3 over the first four minutes to take a commanding 53-35 lead. The TexAnns then extended their lead to 25 points with 13:58 left to play on Shedera Bowman's lay-up.

Tarleton grabbed its first 30-point lead of the game on a pair of free throws from Brittnie Haley at the 7:34 mark. Her shots from the charity stripe gave the TexAnns a 77-47 lead and Tarleton later increased that lead to 30 points on another pair of free throws from Haley.

Cameron cut the deficit to 26 points with a little over a minute to play, but Bowman made back-to back lay-ups with :44 seconds remaining to put the TexAnns back up by 30 points, 90-60. A three-point play from Cameron's Kelsi West made it a 90-63 game until Britttany Coleman's lay-up in the final seconds made it 92-63.

Tarleton shot nearly 60 percent from the floor in the second-half and finished the night making .537 percent of their shots from the field. The TexAnns outscored the opposition 44-24 in the paint and 42-20 in bench points. Tarleton converted 21 Aggie turnovers into 36 points as well.

In addition to Adamson's nine assists on the evening, the TexAnns recorded a total of 22 assists as a team – coming within one shy of tying their season-high mark of 23 (Concordia).

The TexAnns take a break for a few weeks and will return to the court on Jan. 2 when the team hosts Texas Wesleyan at Wisdom Gym. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
