TexAnns start LSC crossover action Saturday at Cameron

LAWTON, OKLA. – The Tarleton women's basketball team will try to take their momentum from a pair of dominating performances into Lone Star Conference crossover play Saturday, Nov. 27 in Lawton, Okla. against Cameron.  Tip-off is at 2 p.m.

The TexAnns (2-0) won their season opener 74-46 over Texas Wesleyan, before dismantling NAIA No. 20 Lubbock Christian 74-64 in Wisdom Gym. Tarleton will now face their first opponent on the road, as they take on the 1-1 Aggies of Cameron.

Coming off a career-high 26 points against the Lady Chaparrals, the reigning South Division Offensive Player of the Week Shelby Adamson is leading the attack for Tarleton, averaging 20.5 points per game, to go along with 3.5 steals per game and three assists per game. Morgan Stehling has been just as productive for the TexAnns, providing 15.5 points per game and 3.5 rebounds per game, with Sonya Sundberg adding 8.5 points and 3.5 assists per game.

Tarleton's inside presence has been a game-changer for the TexAnns, with Kelsey Benford (seven rebounds per game), Brittnie Haley (five rebounds per game), and Kiara Wright (five rebounds per game) controlling the paint.

Averaging 74 points per game as a team, Tarleton has not been shy to push the tempo of the game, while holding opponents to just 55 points per game. Their +9.0 turnover ration has also been a contributing factor to the TexAnns' scoring attack.

The Aggies are led offensively by Nicole Pendarvis, who is averaging 17.5 points per game, and Josie Stewart, who is averaging 17.0 points and seven rebounds per game. Alexis Williams has contributed 12.5 points per game, while Sabelle Diata has added 12.0 points per game.

As a team, Cameron is shooting .429 from the floor, while allowing 69.5 points per game defensively. The Aggies have struggled at times to maintain possession, averaging 22 turnovers per game.
