SEASON-SERIES REWIND
The last time the TexAnns and Javelinas played, Tarleton shot nearly 39 percent from the field compared with TAMUK's 32 percent. Tarleton scored 22 points off Javelina turnovers, while TAMUK scored just 12. And finally, the TexAnns had a five-point lead over the Javelinas with 45 seconds left to play. But it was TAMUK that came out on top when the final buzzer sounded, netting a one-point win over the TexAnns, 63-62.

The TexAnns were down eight points going into the locker room at the break before TAMUK's Kayla Naylor his a three-pointer 30 seconds into the second period that gave TAMUK an 11-point lead. But an 8-0 run that began with Morgan Stehling three-pointer pulled the TexAnns back to within three points, down 34-31.

TAMUK then went on a 10-2 run over the next five minutes to push its lead back to 11 points until a 12-3 run from the TexAnns made it a two-point game, down 47-45 with 7:22 remaining. The TexAnns and Javelinas traded baskets over the course of the next five minutes before Shelby Adamson's layup with 1:43 gave the TexAnns their first lead of the secdon-half.

Tarleton built its lead up to five points on two different occasions, but quick-strike baskets from TAMUK cut the deficit to just three points both times.

Felicia Soza then nailed a jumper with 21 seconds on the clock and following a TexAnn turnover then a a foul by Sonya Sunberg, Naylor sank two free throw attempts to give the home team a 63-62 lead. Sundberg's final three-point attempt hit off the back of the iron, handing the TexAnns a loss in Kingsville.

ABOUT THE TEXANNS
The TexAnns traveled to Abilene this past Tuesday to face Abilene Christian at Kimbrell Areana on the McMurry campus. The TexAnns led by as many as 14 points in the second half before a 13-2 run pulled the Wildcats back to within three points with 6:39 left to play.

The TexAnns and Wildcats would trade baskets over the next five-plus minutes, but the TexAnns still led 64-62. Tarleton missed a shot on its side of the court with 26 seconds remaining and ACU ran the floor, but their shot attempt was no good. ACU's Kelsey Darby-Holson grabbed the offensive rebound and ACU head coach Shawna Lavender quickly called a timeout with 12.3 seconds left in the game.

ACU ran its inbounds play and Jamie Meyer's jumper tied the game 64-64 with 7.6 seconds left to play. Lavender quickly called another timeout, allowing Tarleton to set up a play. Shelby Adamson took the inbounds pass all the way to the other end of the court and as soon as she was cut-off, she executed a successful bounce pass to a wide-open Brittnie Haley standing under the net. She put up the shot and it fell through as time expired giving the TexAnns a 66-64 win over the Wildcats.

HOW SWEEP IT IS
The TexAnns swept the Wildcats for just the second time in school history and first time since the 2005-06 season. Along with these two wins and the win over ACU last season, Tarleton matched its longest win streak ever over the Wildcats at three.

REGIONALLY SPEAKING
The TexAnns stayed at No. 6 in this week's South Central regional rankings after going going 1-1 last week. West Texas A&M remained No. 1 with Emporia State (No. 2) and Washburn (No. 3) right behind them. Northeastern State (No. 4) and Southeastern Oklahoma (No. 5) rounded out the top five just ahead of the TexAnns. Central Oklahoma (No. 7) and Abilene Christian (No. 8) followed while St. Mary's (No. 9) and Incarnate Word (No. 10) moved up to the final two spots. Texas A&M-Kingsville and Fort Hays State dropped out of this week's poll.

WIN AND WE'RE IN
With a win over the Javelinas on Saturday, the TexAnns assure themselves of a spot in the Lone Star Conference Tournament in Bartlesville that takes place March 4-7.

A win on Saturday coupled with a win against Angelo State next Saturday will lock the TexAnns in at the No. 2 seed in the south division.

WINNING WAYS
The TexAnns' 61-35 win over Angelo State back on Jan. 16, assured Tarleton its sixth consecutive winning season - all under head coach Ronnie Hearne. Hearne and the TexAnns went 15-15 in his first season giving him seven consecutive non-losing seasons as head coach of the TexAnn basketball program.

GET DOWN AND GIVE ME TWENTY
With Tarleton's 66-64 win over ACU on Tuesday, head coach Ronnie Hearne earned his first 20-win season at the helm of the TexAnn basketball program. Hearne led the 2005-06 team to a 19-win season which had been his previous high in wins for a single-season.

GET DOWN AND GIVE ME TWENTY - PART II
The 20-win season for Tarleton is its first since the 1993-94 season. The TexAnns went 21-6 in their final season as a NAIA school. The 19-win season that coach Hearne led in 2005-06 had been the most wins for a TexAnn team since joining the Lone Star Conference and NCAA Division II in 1994-95.

Two more wins on the season would guarantte the TexAnns the most wins in a season since Tarleton tallied 30 win in 1991-92.

DOWNTOWN ADAMSON
Shelby Adamson is 3-of-3 from three-point range in the past two games for the TexAnns. Over the last five games she is 4-of-6 from just beyond the arc. Adamson is shooting just 21 percent from downtown on the season, but is shooting just under 40 percent in her last 10 games.
SCOUTING THE JAVELINAS
Texas A&M-Kingsville is coming off a nine-point win over Midwestern State on Wednesday night, downing the Mustangs 72-63 at Hampton Inn Court in Kingsville. Kayla Naylor led the Javelinas with 22 points and Felicia Soza scored 15 points, netting her over 1,000 points for her career at TAMUK.

The Javelinas shot just 38 percent from the field on the evening, but shot nearly 43 percent from the three-point line. Both teams combined for just 10 turnovers. MSU lost the ball just three times while TAMUK had seven turnovers.

The TexAnns are just 6-10 all-time against the Javelinas at home. Head coach Ronnie Hearne is 9-2 all-time against the Javelinas, while TAMUK head coach Scott Hyland has a 2-3 record against Tarleton.
