LAWTON, OKLA. - The Tarleton women's golf team wrapped up competition at the Oklahoma Intercollegiate Tuesday and picked up a pair of victories. The team finished first overall, while
Sarah Fulfer won the individual side.
Fulfer, a sophomore from Stephenville, shot a 70 in the second round and finished with a total of 142. That was two strokes ahead of second place and helped lead the TexAnns to first place in the team standings.
Sharon Lau shot a 73, which gave her a 145 overall, and tied for third place.
Jacqueline Lau tied for sixth (148),
Katy Ward tied for 13th (152) and
Aymara Villarroel tied for 20th (155).
Tarleton beat out second place Western Texas CC by 10 strokes. Newman, Northeastern State Cameron rounded out the top five.
This is the first tournament victory for Tarleton this fall, and is the final competition before heading into the spring season.
"I am very proud of our girls," said head coach
Jerry Doyle. "They really played well and Sarah had a great second round. Overall, I am pleased with our performance."
