Depadt posts runner-up finish, leads Texans in regular season finale at Georgia State Invitational

JOHNS CREEK, Ga. — Louise Depadt posted her third top two performance of the spring to lead Tarleton State Women's Golf to a sixth-place finish overall in the regular season finale at the Georgia State invitational on Monday and Tuesday at Rivermont Golf Course.

The Texans were carried by a strong first day on each of the first two rounds. The Texans ended the first round shooting six-over par to place second overall. At the end of the second round, the Purple and White finished the first day at 13-over par and in a tie for second on the team leader board. The Texans dropped to sixth in the 14-team field with a 21-over par final round. The team shot under 900 for the third time this spring and the fifth time overall this season, carding an 898.

"What a great effort from Louise again this week," said head coach Isabel Jimenez. "She fought until her last shot. Being in contention again and again, almost every tournament she has played in since her injury is incredible. I am excited to see her shine at the conference tournament in a few weeks. As a team, we had a good start but unfortunately came up short on the last round. Now is time to go back home and grind to prepare for the conference championship in a few weeks."

Depadt put on a masterful performance once again claiming runner-up honors. She notched her third top two finish of the spring paired with a pair of individual titles earlier in the spring. The junior was one of three golfers in the field to finish the 54 holes under par. Depadt opened the first day with a pair of three-under par rounds to finish the first day tied for first. She shot a three-over, 75, on her final round to finish at 213 in a tie for second place. On her final hole of the second round, Depadt carded an eagle on the par five, one of six to accomplish the feat in the entire field.

Natalia Fiel Ros was the Texans second highest performer. She started the event off with an even round of 72 to finish the first round tied for ninth. Fiel Ros carded a four-over, 76, in her second round to end the first day in the top 20. She shot a 78 in her final round to card a 226 and tie for 28th place. The sophomore carded her lowest 54-holes of her Texan career, beating her previous best of 227 at the Powercat Invitational by a stroke.

Lou Deltombe started off with a five-over par, 77, in her first round, but improved in the second round of the day to shoot an even par, 72. The La Chapelle Sur Edre, France, native, carded a 79 on her final round to finish at 12-over par and tied for 34th overall. Gina Chen carded a 76-78-77 to finish in 50th with a 231. Darianys Guzman opened with a five-over 77, before withdrawing in the second round. She finished the regular season finale with an 85 to place 87th overall.

The host, Georgia State took home the team title. The Panthers shot 19-over par, including an even par second round, the only team in the field to accomplish an even or under-par round. Emory placed second shooting 22-over par. The 2025 DIII National Champions are currently the top-ranked D3 program in the country. Bowling Green claimed third carding a 26-over par.

Tennessee's Sophie Christopher took home the individual crown carding a five-under par, 211. Depadt tied with Boston's Amy Han at three-under, 213. Christopher turned in the best single round of the trio with a four-under first round.

The Texans will next be in action at the WAC Championship on April 20-22. The defending WAC Champions will play a round a day in the three-day event at The Clubs of Stonebridge Ranch in McKinney, TX. Louise Depadt will search to become a back-to-back individual champion, the first in the WAC since Idaho's Kayla Mortellaro at the 2011 and 2012 championships.
