Cooper takes Lumberjack Shootout victory, TexAnns finish fifth

- Final Results

LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. – The No. 3 Tarleton TexAnns dropped to fifth in the Luberjack Shootout at Wigwam in Litchfield Park, Ariz. while Carla Cooper tied for the top honor for the individual medalist to win her third tournament of the year.

Tarleton finished with an 890 (293-295-302) while host Northern Arizona shot an 871. Florida International (885) and Indiana (885) tied for second while Eastern Michigan shot an 888 to finish fourth just ahead of the TexAnns.

Cooper shot a one-under 215 (71-70-74) to tie for first. Sharon Lau had a 223 (71-78-74) to tie for 14th while Katy Ward tied for 19th with a 224 (74-73-77). Sarah Fulfer had a 232 (78-77-77) for a tie for 44th with teammate Jacquline Lau (77-75-80).

Akron (891), Grand Canyon (897), Northern Colorado (911), Bradley (914), British Columbia (921), Montana (924), McNeese State (953), Weber State (954) and Portland (956) rounded out the field of competition.

The TexAnns will return to action at the Grand Canyon Invitational in Goodyear, Ariz. on April 4-5.
