GRANBURY - The Tarleton women's golf team finished first overall in the 2012 Doc Housewright Invitational with sophomore Sharon Lau taking first place on the individual side.

The TexAnns shot a 589 overall, which finished four strokes ahead of second place Midwestern State and five strokes ahead of round 1 leaders St. Edward's.

Lau herself shot a 71 in both round and finished with a 142 overall.  That tied St. Edwards' Wallis Spears so the two players squared off in a single hole playoff.  After three rounds of playoffs on hole 18, Lau came out victorious.

Besides Sharon Lau, Jacqueline Lau also medaled with a 144 overall, good enough for third place.  Katy Ward tied for 11th (151), followed by Jessica Pickwick in a tie for 14th (152) and Sarah Fulfer in 67th (175).

Western Texas finished fourth on the team side while Cameron rounded out the top five.

The No. 5 TexAnns will now head to the Lone Star Conference Championships in Trophy Club next weekend.
