    Last Time Out

Tarleton recorded its second straight win by at least 20 points with a 90-70 victory over Texas A&M-Kingsville Wednesday night. This marks the sixth straight season in which Tarleton has won back-to-back games by a 20-point margin. Every TexAnn recorded a point in the win as Tarleton was led by four double figure scorers: Shanae Lowrance (16), Kiara Wright (13), Keyra Johnson (11) and Cheyenne Berry (10).

    Last Year's Meetings

The TexAnns swept the regular season meetings against the Cardinals last season, including ending their Cinderella run through the Lone Star Conference Tournament. In Tarleton's trip to the McDermott Center last February, the TexAnns escaped with a 68-64 victory following a 15-point effort from Peyton Adamson.

    Seeing Cardinal Red

In three career games against Incarnate Word, Peyton Adamson has been nothing less than spectacular, recording double figure points in all three games. She posted her first 20-point effort in Stephenville in the first meeting last season, scoring 27 points on 7-10 shooting from 3-point territory. She scored 15 points in each of the next two meetings last year. For her career, she is averaging 19.0 points per game, 54-percent shooting from the floor and 65-percent shooting from downtown against the Cardinals.

    Career highs off the bench

In Tarleton's Wednesday night victory over Texas A&M-Kingsville, TexAnn freshmen Keyra Johnson and Raven McGrath each set career highs in points scored. Johnson was the third leading scorer on the team with 11 points in 19 minutes while McGrath connected for a 3-pointer and a mid-range jumper to give her five points in seven minutes of action.

    Lowrance in double figures

After a sluggish offensive start to the season, Shanae Lowrance has come alive in the last six games - cracking the double-figure mark in five of the six games, including a 24-point effort against UTPB and 16 in her last game. After shooting 7-8 from the floor against TAMUK Wednesday, she is now a close second behind teammate Kiara Wright for the conference lead in field goal percentage (.592).

Wright becoming one of Tarleton's best

After seven games, Kiara Wright has 125 rebounds to give her 566 for her Tarleton career and is now 2 rebounds shy of passing Tina Tibbs (567) for 12th place on the Tarleton rebounding list. She is also 6 rebounds shy of passing her former teammate Brittnie Haley (571) for 11th place all-time. She is rapidly climbing up the indivdual rebounding lists. Her 382 career defensive rebounds have her currently in fourth place all-time while her 184 offensive boards are good for 10th place all-time, so far. (NOTE: Rebounds were not kept as a divided statistic at Tarleton until the 1987 season.) Wright has 20 career double-doubles in regular season and postseason contests and had scored 20 points five times. She has seven double-doubles this season.

Last Time Out for the Cardinals

Incarnate Word saw its five-game winning streak come to a close Wednesday night with a 51-60 road loss to Texas A&M-Commerce. The Cardinals held a seven-point lead over the Lions with 9:50 left to play before TAMUC ended the game with a 22-6 run. Ashlyn Green (21) and Katy Cooke (11) were the only Cardinals in double figures.

    Steals Machine

Ashlyn Green is leading the LSC in steals with 3.8 per game while Iffy Mora (2.3), Lauren McKinney (1.7) and Katy Cooke (1.6) are also in the top 10. Tarleton will counter with the second-ranked point guard in the conference in assist-turnover ratio, Morgan Ashmore, who has 35 assists to just 19 turnovers this season.

    Top offense vs LSC-best defense

Tarleton enters the game as the LSC's second-ranked team in scoring offense (73.3) and the top-ranked squad in field goal percentage (.741) and 3-point field goal percentage (.471). The Cardinals counter with the LSC's best scoring defense (59.5) and the conference lead in steals per game (11.7). The Cardinals are 1.9 steals per game better than second-ranked A&M-Commerce.

    Cinderella Run

Incarnate Word entered the LSC Championship Tournament as the No. 6 seed in the LSC Championship Tournament and knocked off No. 3 seed Midwestern State in the semifinals and No. 2 seed West Texas A&M to advance to their first ever LSC Championship game.

    Looking Ahead for Tarleton

The TexAnns will return home Wednesday night for a 6 p.m. match-up with their north-of-the-border rival, Cameron. Live broadcasts of the TexAnn games can be heard at KSTV 93.1 FM or TarletonSports.com. Live video of the Tarleton home games is available through Tarleton's All-Access.
