Last Time Out

Tarleton battled back to cut a large ACU lead to 10 with just under four minutes left to play, but Wildcat 3-pointers fell at will as Abilene Christian went on to an 86-70 win in Tarleton's final LSC rivalry trip to Moody Coliseum last weekend. Peyton Adamson scored 21 points while Kiara Wright grabbed a career-high 23 boards.

Early season meeting

Tarleton had four double-figure scorers en route to a 90-70 win over the Javelinas in the first game of the 2013 calendar year. Shanae Lowrance led the team with 16 points while Kiara Wright (13), Keyra Johnson (11) and Cheyenne Berry (10) were the others.

Punching the Ticket

Tarleton qualified for the LSC Championship tournament for the 11th time in school history, including 10 straight under head coach Ronnie Hearne.

Memorable foe for Johnson

Tarleton freshman Keyra Johnson recorded her first career double-figure scoring game against the Javelinas in January.

Coming off career games

While Kiara Wright is coming off a career night in rebounds with 23, Erin Sims is also coming off a career night against ACU - grabbing a career-high nine boards and tying her best in rebounds with six.

Setting records the Wright way

Jan. 23, Kiara Wright recorded a career high 34 points, including the game winner with 14 seconds left, to make her the sixth TexAnn in the school's 18-year NCAA history to accomplish the feat. She joins Saresa Butler (30), Jana Skelton (34, 34), Misty Wilson (33, 33), Shea Kester (36) and Tarleton Hall of Famer Rachelle Bowen (30, 49, 30, 32) to crack the 30-point plateau. Her 11-15 shooting from the field ties her for the best field goal percentage in a 30-point game in the NCAA era with her coach Misty Wilson (11-15, .733) and she is one of just two players (Skelton) to reach the mark without making or attempting a 3-point shot. Feb. 2, she recorded her second career 20-rebound game en route to the first 20-20 game in Tarleton's 18-year NCAA history. She now owns two of the four 20-rebound games for Tarleton since 1994.

Tarleton's best NCAA rebounder

After 20 games, Kiara Wright has 268 rebounds to give her 703 for her Tarleton career and is now in sole possession of 5th place on the all-time list and the school's leading rebounder of Tarleton's NCAA era. Wright is now 158 rebounds shy of passing Kaelie Butler (863) - a member of this year's Hall of Fame Class - for fifth on the all-time list. She is rapidly climbing up the indivdual rebounding lists. Her 491 career defensive rebounds have her currently in second place all-time. She is now 37 defensive rebounds shy of being the school's all-time leader - NOTE: Rebounds were not kept as a divided statistic at Tarleton until the 1987 season. - passing Butler (527). Her 218 offensive boards are good for seventh place all-time, so far. Wright has 28 career double-doubles in regular season and postseason contests - 15 this season. She has scored 20 points in six games this season and nine times in her career while recording three 20-rebound games.

Closing in on 1,000 points

Kiara Wright and Peyton Adamson are now on the verge of becoming the 21st and 22nd players in the school history to join the 1,000 point club. Wright current has 879 career points while Peyton Adamson has tallied 741 points in her career. Adamson's older sister, Shelby, is on the list and currently the fourth-leading scorer in school history and the school's all-time NCAA scorer with 1,544.

Honoring a wounded teammate

Following the news of Shanae Lowrance's season-ending knee injury, TexAnn teammate Kiara Wright asked to change jersey numbers for the remainder of the season - trading in her 32 for Lowrance's 33.
