LAST TIME OUT
A first-half barrage of 3-pointers from the Lady Buffs put Tarleton in an early deficit Wednesday night in Canyon. Despite a second-half, 29-9 run from the TexAnns to pull within 15 points late in the game, Tarleton couldn't complete the comeback en route to their second straight loss. Kiara Wright scored 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds while Kathy Thomas and Brianna Bledsoe chipped in 10 points each.

SERIES HISTORY
Tarleton and Eastern New Mexico have met 38 times since the inaugural meeting in 1980 and the TexAnns own the all-time record 26-12. Tarleton won the first two games of the series in 1980 and 1982 in the only two games of the series prior to Tarleton's induction to the NCAA in 1994. From 1994-2000, Eastern New Mexico controlled the series by winning 10 of 12 meetings but a 49-43 win in Portales on Jan. 25, 2001 was the swing of momentum in the series. That victory began a string of 22 wins in the last 24 meetings, including 13 straight dating back to 2008. Tarleton is 14-5 against the Zias in Stephenville.

JUNIOR TEXANS LEAD THE CHARGE
The Junior Texan Club will lead the TexAnns onto the court prior to tomorrow's game.

THE CURING EFFECT OF WISDOM GYM
Tarleton has only lost back-to-back games six times since 2009 - one of them was a three-game losing skid in 2011. In all six occasions, Tarleton has ended the streak by returning home to Wisdom Gym - this includes the two times when Tarleton lost back-to-back games to end the season and opened the next year with a home win in the season-opener.

HOME COOKIN'
Since Ronnie Hearne took over the TexAnns in 2003, Tarleton has been spectacular inside the friendly confines of Wisdom Gym. In the nine years of NCAA competition before Hearne took over, Tarleton was 53-60 (.469) at home. Since Hearne took over the program, Tarleton is 118-28 (.814) at Wisdom Gym - including going 59-6 (.922) since the start of the 2009 season. They are 9-1 at home this season.

WRIGHT-ING THE SHIP
In her career, Kiara Wright has played in 20 games following a loss - shining in the next game and leading Tarleton back into the win column immediately in 16 of the 20 meetings. Wright is 16-4 in her 20 career games following a loss with 14 double-doubles, including a double-double in 11 straight games after a loss. In post-loss games since 2010, Wright is averaging 17.5 points and 12.9 rebounds.

SCOUTING THE ZIAS
After struggling out of the gate under first-year head coach Josh Prock, the Zias have turned things around to start LSC play 4-1 before stumbling Thursday night against Texas Woman's. Tori Tucker leads ENMU in scoring with 10.9 ppg with Jasmine Johnson close behind with 10.5 ppg. Nelsha Peterson is just outside over averaging double digits at 9.9 ppg.

UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
Tarleton will not play Wednesday but return to action next Saturday against A&M-Commerce at 5 p.m.
