The Lone Star Conference schedule officially got under way when the TexAnns hosted Texas Woman's last Saturday. The TexAnns came out of the break and pushed their lead to as many as 28 points in second half en route to their seventh straight victory. Kiara Wright recorded her 44th career double-double with 25 points and 11 rebounds while Brianna Bledsoe (18) and Kathy Thomas (12) also chipped in double figures.

SERIES HISTORY
This is Tarleton's oldest conference rivalry, dating back to 1976 when these two teams met for the first time in San Angelo on Feb. 21, 1976. The Rambelles won the inaugural meeting in 1976 by a final of 77-58 but the TexAnns have gone on to take a 24-20 lead in the all-time series including three straight wins and wins in eight of the last 10 meetings dating back to 2009. Tarleton is 14-6 against ASU in Stephenville and haven't lost to the Rambelles at home since Feb. 4, 2006. The TexAnns are also 11-9 against ASU under head coach Ronnie Hearne.

REACHING NEW HEIGHTS IN THE POLLS
Tarleton has moved to No. 15 in the nation in the latest USA Today/ESPN Division II national coaches poll. This tops the previous high ranking of 16 which Tarleton reached on Feb. 22, 2011. After debuting at No. 24 in the nation on Nov. 26, Tarleton has been at No. 22 and No. 19 in the nation before making their recent jump of four spots. This marks the fifth consecutive season the TexAnns have entered the national Top 25 after reaching the polls for the first time in school history in January 2010.

STREAK MOVES TO SEVEN
In addition to matching their best start ever under Ronnie Hearne, Tarleton won its seventh straight game Saturday night.
