THE GAME
Tarleton State and Angelo State meet with playoff seeding on the line as the TexAnns look to defend Wisdom Gym in a Wednesday night meeting with the Rambelles at 5:30 p.m.

THE BROADCAST
The game will have a live radio broadcast presented by the Tarleton Sports Network presented by North Texas Ford Dealers. The Voice of the TexAnns, Keltin Wiens, will serve as the play-by-play for Tarleton basketball this season. The radio broadcast can be heard on KTRL 90.5 FM in Stephenville and surrounding areas or online at TarletonSports.com/ListenLive. The pregame show will begin 15 minutes prior to tip-off.

THE OPPONENT
After a rough four losses start to the season, including two of those losses coming in the Tarleton State Whataburger Tip-Off Classic, the Rambelles battled back to a .500 record of 5-5. Since then, Angelo State has a 1-10 record with the lone win coming over Lone Star Conference member Texas A&M-Kingsville who is currently winless on the season suffering 20-straight losses.

THE SERIES
This rivalry between the TexAnns and Rambelles, dating back to their days as NAIA competitors, has been fairly even with the TexAnns holding the series advantage 26-21. In a back- and-forth series, Tarleton State has dominated since 2007 by winning 12 of the last 15 games over the Rambelles including three games going to overtime. The TexAnns (15-6) and Rambelles (15-9) both hold advantages at home. Tarleton has not lost at home against Angelo State since the 76-83 overtime loss back in 2006.

BOUNCING BACK WITH A VENGEANCE
Saturday's loss to Cameron marked just the second time this season that the TexAnns have lost back-to-back games. Mirroring their first two-game skid, the TexAnns lost the first game by 10 or more points and lost a nail-biter by three or less points the following game. Following the last two-game losing streak earlier in the season to Cameron and West Texas A&M, Tarleton bounced back with a 15 point win against Lone Star Conference rival Eastern New Mexico in Portales, New Mexico.

TARLETON IN THE LSC
Tarleton State has developed into one of the premier basketball programs in the nation, as well as within the Lone Star Conference. The TexAnns earned their first league championship in 2012 and reached the finals of the LSC Championship Tournament for the second time in three years last season. Since joining the LSC as an NCAA institution in 1994, the TexAnns have a record of 168-143 against conference foes, including five seasons - four consecutive - of over 10 conference wins.

MILESTONE WATCH
Kathy Thomas enters Saturday's game with 80 career 3-pointers made. She is currently tied with Kristen Curtis for 11th all-time. With five made triples against Cameron, Thomas passed Morgan Stehling (76) in 13th all-time and current TexAnn head coach, Misty Wilson (77) in 12th.
• With 229 career assists, Morgan Ashmore is currently all alone for 12th all-time. She is 53 away from passing Jenn Doroga (281) for 11th all-time.
Meagan O'Dell is four (4) points from reaching 300 in her Tarleton career while Raven McGrath is seven (7) points from 400.

THOMAS CRUNCHING THE NUMBERS
Angelo State is a memorable opponent for senior guard Kathy Thomas, who averages 12.6 points per game against the Rambelles in three career games against Angelo State. This is tied for her third best points-per-game average against a Lone Star Conference opponent, behind West Texas A&M (14.3) and four career games against Cameron averaging 13.5 points per contest. Last years game against Angelo State in Wisdom Gym saw Thomas top 20 points for the first time in her TexAnn career.

LOOKING TO SNAP THE SKID
Tarleton State has dropped two straight games for the seventh time since the second half of the 2012 season.  In each game following two consecutive losses, Tarleton has responded with a win of 10 points or more on each occasion.

TOPS IN THE NATION
Tarleton State ranks among the nations best in multiple statistical categories, including:
• No. 28 in FT percentage (.759)
• No. 29 in 3-point percentage (.365)

UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
Tarleton State will travel to Texas A&M-Kingsville in a Lone Star Conference matchup against the Javelinas in the Gil H. Steinke Physical Education Center at 6 p.m. on Valentine's Day.
