DALLAS – TexAnn Golf came away with a second-place finish at the Dallas Baptist Patriot Classic on Tuesday at The Golf Club of Dallas.
In the 54-hole tournament, Tarleton had rounds of 301-291-294 for a final score of 886 (+22). Tournament hosts Dallas Baptist won the event with a score of 870 (+6).
Casey Wild shot even par on the final day to card a 214 (-2) and finish in second place on the individual leaderboard. Wild had rounds of 69-73-72, with the 69 being her lowest round of the season. Overall, Wild had a dozen birdies and 34 pars.
Sarah Gee had her best finish of the season, coming in a tie for fifth with a score of 220 (+4). Gee, who had rounds of 76-71-73, led the TexAnns with 14 birdies in the tournament.
Kerbey Kipp climbed five spots on the player leaderboard for her best individual finish as well, coming in 15
th place with scores of 79-72-74 for a 225 (+9). Kipp sank nine birdies and added 31 pars in the three rounds.
Lydia Traylor finished in a four-way tie for 30
th with rounds of 78-75-79—232 (+16). Traylor had a team-high 35 pars in the tournament.
Casey Leatherman jumped 14 spots on the leaderboard to finish in 39
th after carding 78-82-75—235 (+19) in the tournament.
Breanna Smith played as an individual and had rounds of 82-81-83—246 (+30).
Tarleton will travel to Puerto Rico to play its next tournament, hosted by the University of Illinois Springfield at the Wyndham Grand Rio Mar on October 24-25.
