FINAL FAREWELL FOR COLLINS AND HAILEY
No. 2, Kylie Collins, Arlington, TX
As a four-year starter,
Kylie Collins has racked up multiple accolades on and off the court. In her career, Collins has been named to the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll, LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll ACE Award Recipient, Student Athlete of the Month, and won the Team's Leadership Award. On the court, Collins has produced at a high level for head coach
Misty Wilson. She ranks in the Top-15 of the program record book for three-point field goals made (4th), three-point field goals attempted (6th), games played (T10), and assists (13). Collins, along with Hailey, has helped lead the Texans to a Lone Star Conference Tournament Championship, three consecutive NCAA South Central Regional Tournaments, and are on track to add to that resume this March. Collins earned her bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and is currently pursuing a master's degree in the same field.
No. 41, Mackenzie Hailey, Burleson, TX
Mackenzie Hailey has started in 115 of 116 career games for Coach Wilson. The Burleson native transferred from the University of Texas-Arlington in 2016 and has made a large impact on the Texans since then. Hailey, along with Collins, has helped lead the Texans to a Lone Star Conference Tournament Championship, three consecutive NCAA South Central Regional Tournaments, and are on track to add to that resume this March. In her career, Hailey has been named to the First-team D2CCA All-Region, LSC All-Conference Academic, seven-time LSC Player of Week, Team's MVP, WBCA All-American Honorable Mention Team, Second-team D2CCA All-Region, First-team All-LSC, All-LSC Defensive Team, LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll, Student-Athlete of the Month, LSC Newcomer of the Year, Second-team All-LSC, and Team's Offensive MVP and Outstanding Rebounder. On the court, Hailey has single-handedly inked her name into the Texan record book. She ranks in different 12 categories of the program record book, including in points (2nd), defensive rebounds (2nd), field goals attempted (2nd), double-doubles (3rd), blocks (3rd), offensive rebounds (3rd), field goals made (3rd), steals (5th), free throws made (5th), rebounds (5th), free throws attempted (7th), and games played (T12). Hailey earned her bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and is currently pursuing a master's degree in the same field.
LAST TIME OUT
After trailing for 37 straight minutes, the Texans went on a 12-0 run in the final 1:59 of the game to stun Eastern New Mexico on the road, 54-52.
With two minutes left in the game, the Greyhounds held a 52-42 lead over the Texans. After scoring the winning points to upset No. 20 West Texas A&M on Thursday,
Kylie Collins was in position to do it again. A three from Collins tied the game up at 52-all with 46 seconds remaining.
The Texan defense made a stop at the other end of the floor and
Marissa Escamilla rebounded it to give the ball back to the Texans. With eight seconds left,
Kandyn Faurie banked in a running mid-range jumper to secure the win for the Texans.
INSIDE THE SERIES: ST. MARY'S
The Texans and Rattlers last met in early February, where Tarleton defeated St. Mary's in San Antonio, 70-55. The Rattlers lead the all-time series, 8-14, and hold the advantage in Wisdom, 4-6. St. Mary's currently sits in the top spot of the divisional standings with a record of 6-1, a half a game ahead of Tarleton.
INSIDE THE SERIES: ST. EDWARD'S
The Texans and Greyhounds last met in early February, where Tarleton defeated St. Edward's in Austin, 68-64. The Hilltoppers lead the all-time series 18-17 and hold the advantage in Stephenville, 8-7. St. Edward's will battle Texas Woman's on Thursday before Saturday's match-up.
LONE STAR CONFERENCE STANDINGS
The Texans hold a two-game lead for fourth place in the overall LSC standings, which would guarantee them a first-round bye in the LSC Tournament if they can hold onto a top-4 seed. The LSC Tournament is set for March 3-5-6-7-8 with the opening rounds taking place on campus and the final four rounds taking place at the Comerica Center in Frisco.
NCAA REGIONAL RANKINGS
The Texans are ranked No. 5 in the first NCAA South Central Regional poll of the season.
The Texans have defeated three of the 10 regionally-ranked teams this season, coming up with road wins against West Texas A&M and Eastern New Mexico, while defeating Colorado Mesa at home in the second game of the season.
Tarleton has qualified for nine NCAA regional tournaments, including each of the last three seasons, which is the second-longest streak in program history.

HAILEY NAMED LSC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK AFTER A PAIR OF ROAD WINS
Mackenzie Hailey has been named the LSC Defensive Player of the Week after the Texans swept its toughest road trip of the season against regional contenders.
Hailey averaged 13.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and three steals to help lift Tarleton to a road sweep at No. 20 West Texas A&M and Eastern New Mexico. It's the third LSC weekly award this season for Hailey and the first defensive honor. For her career, Hailey has seven LSC weekly awards.

The
Misty Wilson Radio Show takes place every Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. from the lobby of First Financial Bank. The sixth-year head coach of the Texans will join
Kyle Crews for a 30-minute program each week to discuss previous performances, upcoming opponents, and other storylines. Student-Athletes will join the show as well.

The Texans will play their final two games of the regular season. First, the Texans will travel to Laredo on Thursday, February 27th to battle Texas A&M-International at 5:30 p.m. Tarleton will then head to Kingsville on Saturday for a 2:00 p.m. tipoff with the Javelinas.
