- This is the first matchup between these two teams since 1990. The Texans are 8-2 against the Tigers all-time, including a perfect 4-0 mark at home. They last hosted Paul Quinn in 1988.
- Paul Quinn plays in the Red River Conference of the NAIA. All 12 teams in the conference are located in Texas, Louisiana and New Mexico.
