Â
WHO'S HOT
- Tyler Jackson – Jackson has scored exactly 10 points in each of Tarleton's first three games to start the year. She's now scored in double figures in five straight games, dating back to last season. Last year, she didn't have her third 10+ point game until her 23rd game played.
- Teresa Da Silva – Da Silva leads the team in scoring at 13.7 points per game, making 15-of-27 (.556) from the field, 6-of-13 (.462) from three, and 5-of-6 (.833) from the free throw line. With four more free throw makes in no more than four tries, she'll be at the coveted 50/40/90 splits.
- Mayra Caicedo – With four assists in the last game, Caicedo leads the team with 11 total on the season. She's now had multiple assists in 20 straight games, dating back to her time at Arkansas-Little Rock. Over that span, she's averaged 5.3 assists per game.
Â
NUMBERS TO KNOW
25: Tarleton has been able to work the whistle this season, getting to the free throw line 25
TIMES MORE THAN THEIR OPPONENTS. At 23.3 free throw attempts per game, Tarleton ranks 50th in the nation and fourth in the WAC. Â
Â
8: Despite being outrebounded on Tuesday, Tarleton is still averaging eight
MORE REBOUNDS PER GAME than their opponents. Of course it's early in the season, but at the moment, Tarleton's 39.7 rebounds per game is the Texans' best mark in at least the past 10 years.
Â
7: Tarleton's 2022-23 roster has a lot of international flavor, with seven
PLAYERS BORN AND RAISED OUTSIDE OF THE U.S. on the team this year. Seven of those players each represent a different country; the U.K., Canada, Colombia, Senegal, Sweden, Bulgaria and Poland.
Â
11: Like last year, Tarleton was once again voted to finish 11th (tied) in the
PRESEASON WAC COACHES' POLL. They were picked to finish ahead of Seattle U, tied with Utah Tech. Last year Tarleton proved the coaches wrong by finishing seventh in the WAC and just 2.0 games from fourth.
