GLEN ROSE, Texas — The Tarleton State women's golf team hosted their annual fundraising tournament on Friday morning at Squaw Valley Lakes Course.

Isabel Jimenez held the tournament that comprised of 10 teams and 35 players. The four-person scramble featured an 18-hole shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.

Alejandra Cambronero,
Elle Fox and
Sofia Rodriguez were at holes seven and ten and were available to shoot a free drive for each of the groups. Cambronero nearly aced one of her drives for a quartet on the seventh hole.
Two foursomes carded a 54 (-18) in their rounds to lead the groups. The quad of Amie Broadway, Brian Funk, Gene Broadway and Charlotte Broadway was crowned champions based on the better back nine score. The quartet of Thomas Tennison, Dean Hayhurst, Gary Pittman, and Randy Hodges earned second place honors, a 12-count box of Tarleton branded golf balls. The champion group was each awarded a customized wedge.
Also honored after play was the foursome of Corey Baker, Oscar Pena, James Spurlock and Scott Smith who carded a seven-under-par, 65, the last place team. The group each earned a cooler for their hard work on the course.
Jimenez's squad will be head to Huntsville this week to begin the Bearkat Invitational hosted by Sam Houston at the Elkins Lake Country Club on Monday.
