PROVO, Utah – Tarleton State Women's Golf will start its 2023-24 slate in Utah at the Timpanogos Collegiate Classic hosted by Utah Valley at the Timpanogos Golf Club opening on Sunday and concluding on Tuesday.
The first-ever Timpanogos Collegiate Invitational is set to tee off on Sunday morning with the final round of the three-round, 54-hole tournament set to conclude on Tuesday afternoon. All three rounds will be a shotgun start at 9 a.m. CT (8 a.m. local time). The Timpanogos Golf Club features a 18-hole 6,143 yards course. "We are very excited to kick off the season in Utah. It is going to be a great test for our team." said coach Jimenez. "We come to Utah very motivated and we cannot wait to start the competition early on Sunday morning!"
Saturday night will feature a Par 3 Team Shootout Competition under the lights with a pair of starts at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. MT (local time). Live scoring for the event will be on the Genius Scoring App.
Tarleton State will compete in a 19-team field featuring: CSU Bakersfield, Cal State Fullerton, CSUN, Fresno State, Grand Canyon, Idaho, Idaho State, Lamar, Montana State, North Dakota State, Santa, Clara, Southern Utah, Utah Valley, UT Arlington, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, Utah Tech, & Weber State. Four other WAC schools will be participating as well as schools from several other conferences.
The 2023-24 Tarleton squad features seven players from last season and one newcomer.
Mathilde Brogens, Alejandra Cambronero, Rebeca Fernandez, Elle Fox, Quedesha Golledge, Angela Inocian, and
Sofia Rodriguez return for head coach
Isabel Jimenez as the Texans' youth movement has aged one more season.
Lou Deltombe joins the group as the only newcomer, a transfer from Menlo College but originally from France.
Brogens led the Texans with a 75.8 average in 2022-23 and four Top-20 finishes including a pair within the Top-10.
Elle Fox in her first year at Tarleton carded a 76.2 average as well as a quartet of top-20 finishes and a third-place overall performance.
Tarleton State will return to action on September 25-26 at the Bearkat Invitational in Huntsville, Texas at the Lake Elkins Country Club.
