SAN ANGELO, Texas – Following an exciting weekend in Austin at the Texas Relays, Tarleton State has a quick turnaround as they head to the David Noble Relays Thursday-Saturday at LeGrand Stadium.
This is a different meet than usual for the Texans though, because they'll have just a single representative at the meet,
Jordan Rae.
"I am excited for the meet this weekend at Angelo State for our multi event athlete,
Jordan Rae," interim head coach
Chase Rathke said. "She has been putting in a lot of work and doesn't get many opportunities during the season to do an event like this. There will be a lot of competition from all over the country coming to this meet. I know she is ready though."
Rae is the lone Texan representative at the David Noble Relays as it is one of the only meets this season for the Texans where she can run a multi. The rest of the Purple and White will take a week off before Tarleton State host the Joe Gillespie Invitational April 12-13.
So far this outdoor season, Rae has competed in just one meet at the Clyde Hart Invitational hosted by Baylor in Waco, Texas. In the meet she competed in the Women's 100 Meter Hurdles placing 27th with a time of 16.16 seconds. She also tied for 14th in the Women's High Jump with a jump of 1.63 meters.
Tarleton State is headed to San Angelo for the first time since 2022 when the Texans competed in the same event.
Last time the Texans were in action,
Morgan Lamberson finish third in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase with a time of 10:49.349 behind McNeese State (2) and Texas (1). Lamberson already holds the school record for the event (10:47.78, 2023) but with her time at the Texas Relays, has now run the second fastest time as well by almost a whole second over Aly Coughlin (10:50.26, 2014).
