Brogens and Deltombe finish in top 10 to lead Texans to top 5 performance in regular season finale at ORU Spring Invite

BROKEN ARROW, Oklahoma – A pair of top-10 performances by Mathilde Brogens and Lou Deltombe led Tarleton State Women's Golf to a fourth place finish in its regular season finale at the Oral Roberts Spring Invitational with a fourth place finish at The Club at Indian Springs – River on Tuesday afternoon.

Brogens once again earned a top-10 performance in Broken Arrow, after a sixth-place finish last season. She joined Deltombe as the first pair of Texans to finish in the top 10 in the same invitational this season. Both Brogens and Deltombe carded a 71 round with Brogens' opening the three-round event with it, and Deltombe finishing one-under in the second round of the day on Monday. It marks the second time this season, that Deltombe and Brogens finished in the top 10 and the first time this spring.

"This tournament performance have shown us that the work we are putting in ia slowly showing and starting to pay off," said coach Isabel Jimenez after the invitational. "We have improved our par three's stats and even though we had a few big numbers on a few holes, we have also reduced those as well. Now we go back to fine tune a couple of things and we are very hopeful and motivated to have a great performance at the WAC Championship next week."

As a team, the fourth-place performance is the best finish as a team this spring and one of three fourth place finishes including the fall season. The team carded its lowest first-round score of the spring with a 299, tying with second and third round scores from the GCU Invitational as the lowest this spring.

The Wildcats were the only team to shoot under 300 in each round, totaling a 22-over, 886. The host, Oral Roberts, finished in second two strokes behind, and Northern Illinois rounded out the top 3 two strokes behind ORU, carding a 36-over par, 890.
