STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Tarleton State Women's Golf will conclude their fall slate on Monday and Tuesday at The Clash at Boulder Creek hosted by Northern Arizona at the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Henderson, Nev.
The Texans will compete in the 19-team field. Tarleton State is one of four WAC squads competing joined by Southern Utah, Utah Tech and Utah Valley. The Texans are one of two 2025 NCAA Regional Tournament teams joined by UNLV. The other teams in the field are: Northern Arizona, Cal State Bakersfield, Cal State Northridge, Drake, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Grand Canyon, Nebraska, New Mexico State, North Dakota State, San Francisco, South Dakota State, UC Riverside and UTEP.
The two-day, 54-hole event will tee off on Monday with a pair of rounds with a shotgun start. Tuesday will have the third and final round. All rounds will be a par 72, having a 6,429 yardage. This marks the Texans second-consecutive appearance at The Clash at Boulder Creek. Last year, the team shot a two-under 862 and finished eighth overall. The 862 was the Texans' second lowest 54-hole team score of the season. The 2024 champions San Francisco, is back to defend their title after shooting an 823, 41-under par.
The Texans will be competing with only four heading into their final tournament of the fall. After being forced to withdraw from the final round at the Powercat Invitational,
Darianys Guzman will miss the last event of fall. The Texans will once again be without the 2025 WAC Tournament Champion and Co-Player of the Year,
Louise Depadt. Depadt underwent successful surgery earlier this month and is expected to make a speedy recovery. She is very excited to get back out on the course and join her teammates in their quest later this season.
Earlier this week, the Texans posted their best team finish of the fall at the Powercat Invitational. The squad finished fourth overall mainly due to a second-round surge that pushed the Texans up three spots. Tarleton State shot the third best score as a team on the second round and carried that momentum into the final round to maintain fourth place finishing at 930, +78.
Lou Deltombe led the pack posting the highest individual finish. She tied for 12
th overall shooting a 13-over-par, 229.
Natalia Fiel Ros put together her highest finish of the fall placing 15
th with a 15-over, 231. Fiel Ros was the only Texan to had played on the course before, as she had attended Kansas State last season.
Rebeca Fernandez also carded her best finish of the fall tying for 40
th. Freshman
Gina Chen turned in the only even par or better round shooting an even, 72 on the second round. She finished in 42
nd.
Tarleton State's spring slate will be announced in the coming weeks ahead of their 2025 WAC defending title appearance at the 2026 WAC Championships in McKinney, Texas on April 20-22.
