Effran Bryant led the Texan men's basketball team in scoring in five of Tarleton's nine games in January. He recorded games of 22, 19, 13, 15 and 17 points while leading the team in scoring. During the month, Bryant started all nine games for the Texans and averaged 14.6 points per outing. He had 19 assists, eight steals and a 2.2 rebounds per game average. Bryant shot .487 from the floor and .478 from the three-point arc. The senior from Humble added a .852 percentage from the charity stripe. In the game against Texas-Permian Basin, Bryant connected on five-of-eight from the arc before hitting six-of-nine from the arc at Texas A&M-Kingsville. He helped the Texans secure victory at West Texas A&M by hitting eight-of-nine free throws in the contest. Bryant scored in double digits in eight of the nine games in January. Then senior hit several key threes throughout the month to spark runs that led the Texans to an 8-1 record.
