Julie Norris started the softball season with a 1.81 earned run average and a 5-3 record.  She pitched 54.2 innings of work while allowing just 11 earned runs and 11 walks.  She struck out 42 batters and opponents had just eight extra-base hits and a .210 average off the senior from Garland in the opening month.  Norris started the year off with 32 complete innings without allowing an earned run to cross the plate.  She started off the year 4-1 while also hitting .364 at the plate herself.  She had 16 hits, seven runs batted in, nine runs scored with one double and two home runs.
