As a junior, Cole set records in career passing attempts, career pass completions, most touchdown passes in a career, most passing yards in a career and most pass completions in a single season.  He had a 52.6 career completion rate.  He was named second team All-LSC South in 1997 and 1998, Tarleton's Co-Offensive MVP in 1996 and the preseason LSC South MVP and a three-time LSC South Player of the Week.
