A four-year letterman at defensive back and a first team NAIA All American in 1984.

Played in 33 games and started every game from his sophomore year on. Recorded 262 tackles, 21 passes broken up, and 7 interceptions in his career. Had 100 tackles and 4 interceptions as a senior playing free safety on a 6-4 team that finished 2^nd in the TIAA and went to the Aztec Bowl in Mexico City. Estelle was the John Fielding Higgs Award winner in 1984.
