Moreno was the literal heart of the Texan teams from 1988-1992. He was a relentless, uncompromising player who provided the glue for a group of young men who were individually solid basketball players but together formed an outstanding team. Moreno was an all-around player who never put up outstanding statistics but always had a sense of what the team needed to win and was willing to make the necessary sacrifices to insure victory. Jim Moreno was the consummate “blue collar” basketball player.
