Phillips was an outstanding guard for the TexAnns and in 1982-83 averaged 8.5 points per game while recording 119 assists and 49 steals. In 1983-84 she had 9.0 points per game with 130 assists and 56 steals before finishing her career in 1984-85 with 10.6 points per game, 131 assists and 56 steals. She was named a CoSIDA Academic All-American Honorable Mention selection and her TexAnn teams had a 74-19 recrod with three conference championships. The TexAnn team was the District VIII runner-up in 1983.
