Lonn Reisman is Tarleton’s all-time wins leader with 654 victories after 30 years as the head men’s basketball coach. When Reisman came to Tarleton in 1988, the Texans had one winning season in 27 years as a senior college. In his NCAA coaching career, Reisman and the Texans spent 128 weeks ranked in the NABC national poll, including nine weeks ranked No. 1 in the nation. Reisman posted 14 seasons with over 20 wins and was a 13-time Coach of the Year winner. He won eight LSC Championships and three LSC Tournament Championships. Reisman guided the Texans to 14 NCAA Tournaments, four NCAA Regional Championships and two NCAA Division II Final Four appearances – the most in LSC history at the time of his retirement. He coached 13 All-Americans and four LSC Player of the Year winners. In 2018, Reisman received one of the highest honors a coach can receive from the NABC. He was named the recipient of the Guardians of the Game Award for Leadership and was recognized at the 2018 NCAA Division I Final Four in San Antonio.
